A collaboration valued by students and volunteers occurs after the sewing class. The Louise Multicultural Centre offers an English lesson to all students. Sewing terminology is emphasised to reinforce aspects of sewing techniques, pattern use and garment construction. Also, the lessons cover everyday language and customs related to daily activities such as greeting people, shopping, visiting the doctor or hospital, and parent teacher interviews.
